Tyre Stewardship Australia now has its first Chief Executive Officer, well known industry consultant Matt Genever.
According to TSA Chairman, Gerry Morvell, “Matt brings a decade of experience in waste and resource management. In his new role as CEO, all of this experience and knowledge will be invaluable to furthering TSA’s goals and objectives,” Mr Morvell added.
After six years as a senior manager with Sustainability Victoria, Mr Genever moved to Hyder Consulting where he progressed to become Business Leader for Waste and Resource Management. Mr Genever has worked within key Victorian markets including organics, timber, tyres and aggregates to improve uptake and increase demand for high quality end products.
Mr Genever started at TSA on June 15 and expressed his excitement at taking on the new challenge. “ TSA has grown rapidly with the support of tyre companies, the recycling sector and now even more retail chains coming on board. I look forward to working with all stakeholders on continuing to increase sustainable management for the 50 million end-of-life tyres Australia generates each year. Particularly on furthering market development measures designed to increase the value of recycled waste tyres.”
