What we do

Driving sustainable outcomes for Australia's used tyres is our priority.

We run the national and voluntary Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme (TPSS) to help reduce the environmental, health and safety impacts of tyres which reach their end of life in Australia.

ReMade in QLD (ReMiQ) funding is available for Queensland’s manufacturing industry to reduce waste and remanufacture recycled materials

A new 10 million for ReMiQ to support local manufacturers in Queensland to utilise waste and recycled material streams to develop new products, grow their businesses and drive better environmental and economic outcomes. Eligible manufacturers and recyclers can access matched grant funding of between $50,000 and $2.5 million for projects that increase the reuse of existing recycled material streams in manufacturing or enable diversification to remanufacture new waste streams

“These grants will help businesses with the equipment and technology they need to use clean recycled materials, harness new opportunities and most importantly, create new jobs.”  stated Acting Minister for the Environment and Great Barrier Reef and Minister for Science and Innovation, Grace Grace

TSA’s recent research found that 40% of Queensland’s used tyres aren’t recovered, particularly those generated in regional areas. ReMiQ funding could be an opportunity to create new goods from recycled tyre-derived material and help shift Queensland’s used tyres into the circular economy.

Guidelines for the new grant round are now available on the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water’s website:  www.rdmw.qld.gov.au/ReMiQ
