What we do

Driving sustainable outcomes for Australia's used tyres is our priority.

We run the national and voluntary Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme (TPSS) to help reduce the environmental, health and safety impacts of tyres which reach their end of life in Australia.

Tyre Stewardship Australia’s 2025–2028 Strategy outlines our priorities for delivering stronger environmental, economic and social outcomes through the product stewardship of tyres.

The foundation of the TSA’s strategy is collaboration. It reinforces TSA’s commitment to collaboration: working with government, industry and the community to achieve shared goals and accelerate the shift to a circular economy.

It is our mission to maximise the circular value of the resources in used tyres.

This strategy defines the direction of TSA’s work over the next three years to achieve our mission.  It focuses our resources on actions that will have the greatest impact across the tyre lifecycle — from design and import, through to recovery and re-use.

This strategy is structured around five strategic pillars:

  1. Build Markets
  2. Advocate for Better
  3. Informed Decision Making
  4. Influence Behaviour
  5. Business Excellence

We invite you to join us in our journey to create a circular economy for end-of-life tyres in Australia.

Tyre Stewardship Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which we live, work, and depend. We acknowledge the unique spiritual and cultural connection, and continuing aspiration that the Traditional Owners have for Country and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

Please note: Tyre Stewardship Australia was accredited under the Australian Government Accredited Product Stewardship Scheme from March 2021 to March 2026 and submitted an application for re‑accreditation in January 2026, which is currently under assessment.
