We’re proud to publish our 2023/24 annual report.

This milestone edition marks Tyre Stewardship Australia’s 10-year anniversary, as we celebrate a decade of industry innovation and progress towards a circular economy for Australia’s end-of-life tyres.

Together with our industry, research partners, and government, we’re leading the charge to transform end-of-life tyre management across the nation. A commitment to innovation, sustainability and industry collaboration has yielded significant achievements over the past decade and paved the way for a more circular tyre economy in Australia.

Key Highlights:

  • Market Development Fund: Invested over $10 million in 70+ projects, driving innovation and creating new markets for tyre-derived materials.
  • ACCC Reauthorisation: Secured a three-year extension until September 2027, allowing us to continue our vital work in tyre stewardship.
  • Minister’s Priority List: For the second consecutive year, tyres were listed on the Commonwealth Minister’s Product Stewardship Priority List.
  • Carbon Neutral Certification: Achieved certification under Trace’s scheme, demonstrating our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.
  • Research Leadership: Released comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Pyrolysis reports, providing valuable insights for the industry.
  • Technology Innovation and Commercialisation: Supported research into using crumb rubber in new applications, opening new avenues for Australian manufacturing.
  • Enhanced Expertise: Established a new Research Advisory Committee to increase capabilities and expertise, enabling better assessment of inherent risks and opportunities in each funding application.
