TSA is seeking an Independent Member to join its Research Advisory Committee

Play a critical role in assessing applications for funding and setting long-term priorities to support market development. Applications for funding usually range from $50,000 – $500,000 per project, and TSA’s contribution generally represents half of the total project cost. As funding proposals continue to increase in scale and complexity, the Research Advisory Committee requires a range of skills and expertise to give due consideration to the inherent risks and opportunities of each application.

TSA is looking for an individual with a strong interest in the circular economy and experience in evaluating the financial, regulatory and market development aspects of emerging business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the TSA Board in assessing funding applications
  • Set long-term priorities for funding to support market development
  • Evaluate and assess funding applications for demonstration and commercialisation
  • Provide strategic, commercial and sustainability leadership to the organisation
  • Contribute to a sub-committee environment

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified
  • Demonstrated skills in the risk assessment of innovative projects
  • Prior experience in a sub-committee environment
  • Dedication to the role and willingness to contribute the required time
  • Membership of the AICD or the Governance Institute of Australia is highly regarded

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in circular economy principles
  • Strong financial evaluation skills
  • Ability to assess regulatory and market development aspects of emerging business opportunities
  • Expertise in risk assessment of innovative projects with a specific focus on commercial viability

Remuneration:

  • Remunerated role, paid on a per meeting basis
  • Meetings are held approx. 4 times per year
  • Approximately 3 hours per meeting, with 2-3 hours of preparation time required
