What we do

Driving sustainable outcomes for Australia's used tyres is our priority.

We run the national and voluntary Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme (TPSS) to help reduce the environmental, health and safety impacts of tyres which reach their end of life in Australia.

Waste Recycling & Processing

TSA is calling for all property developers, facility managers and landlords to remain vigilant ahead of the Commonwealth’s waste export ban on whole used tyres coming into effect 1 December 2021.

Working together now is most important to avoid illegal dumping and stockpiling of used tyres. Unmanaged stockpiles become the responsibility of the landlord should an operator abandon site.

If your site is occupied by a tyre collector or recycler, encourage them to become accredited with TSA. Accreditation provides assurance that they are meeting regulatory and Scheme guidelines, such as tyre storage, handling and arrangements with retailers.
