What we do

Driving sustainable outcomes for Australia's used tyres is our priority.

We run the national and voluntary Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme (TPSS) to help reduce the environmental, health and safety impacts of tyres which reach their end of life in Australia.

Stay informed and compliant with Victoria’s strengthened environmental laws.

Under the General Environmental Duty (GED) introduced by EPA Victoria, all tyre retailers must take proactive steps to minimise risks of pollution and protect public health. This includes safe tyre storage, emergency planning, chemical handling, regular inspections, and legal tyre disposal.

Tyre Stewardship Australia provides helpful tools, including best practice guidelines for tyre storage and links to EPA’s risk assessment resources. Retailers must also register with EPA Victoria if storing more than 5 cubic metres of waste tyres, and ensure all tyre movements are tracked via the EPA Waste Tracker.
