The fleet industry is made up of entities that own or operate a fleet of vehicles, including:
Fleet leasing companies
Corporate fleet operators
Government fleet operators
Industry associations that represent fleet operators
Transport and logistics
Fleet operators’ services cover many types of vehicles – from passenger cars and commercial trucks to off-the-road vehicles and even plant equipment. As such, they have the potential to make a big impact on the number of used tyres that can be collected and recycled.
Through TSA, fleet operators that choose to procure, maintain and dispose of tyres and other rubber products responsibly can become an accredited participant in the Scheme. This provides a tangible way of fulfilling their sustainability and policy commitments and means they become part of a trusted network that:
shows their customers they can trust that their used tyres will go to productive use
reduces the environmental, social and economic risks of tyres going to waste through landfill, illegal stockpiles and dumping
supports Australian manufacturers to produce tyre derived material which can be used to build better roads, sporting fields and many other surfaces and products
helps avoid the risk of greenwashing
