Tyre & Auto Brands

All tyres are imported into Australia, either attached to a vehicle, or loose in shipping containers. 

Tyre and auto brands are businesses or organisations that are engaged in tyre importation, vehicle importation, or vehicle manufacturing and are first to supply a tyre to the domestic Australian market. 

These businesses include: 

• Tyre and vehicle manufacturers 

• Tyre and vehicle importers 

• Industry associations that represent tyre and auto brands 

Through TSA, tyre and auto brands can take responsibility for the tyres they introduce into the Australian supply chain and help fund industry-led solutions for the resulting waste stream, by:  

• paying a voluntary levy for every tyre imported into Australia to support product stewardship, market development, research and education 

• providing data to TSA on the types and numbers of tyres sold 

• only importing tyres that are compliant with the relevant Australian Design Rules and other standards 

• promoting participation in the Scheme to businesses and other organisations to which they supply tyres to help build industry sustainability
