Tyre-Derived Material Manufacturers and Markets

Australian manufacturers are critical to recovering the valuable materials found in used tyres, opening new markets for products made from tyre-derived material and creating jobs.

Manufacturing operators using tyre-derived material successfully in Australia can already be found in a wide number of fields and industry sectors, such as:

Construction and engineering, particularly roads, pathways, railways and other infrastructure
Commercial and Residential property development
Manufacturing, including advanced manufacturing and moulded products
Product design and development

Manufacturers can significantly reduce the waste tyre burden for Australia, by:

using tyre-derived material (such as crumb, shred, granules and steel) to make new products
exploring emerging technology (such as using devulcanised or micronised tyre rubber and recovered carbon black as replacements for virgin materials in traditional applications)

Through TSA, manufacturers using or exploring the use of tyre derived materials and emerging technology can apply for funding from our Market Development Fund, backed by support from our Market Development and Science, Research & Innovation teams.
