What we do

Driving sustainable outcomes for Australia's used tyres is our priority.

We run the national and voluntary Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme (TPSS) to help reduce the environmental, health and safety impacts of tyres which reach their end of life in Australia.

The Tyre Stewardship Fund is actively supporting a range of new product and market developments across 29 projects, with over $4 Million committed to the research and development, and demonstration and implementation of these applications.

From these projects a range of new tyre-derived product applications are reaching commercial opportunity stage. These products range in application from horse racing tracks, local roads, residential concrete slabs and as a composite material which has endless manufacturing possibilities. These are only a sample of the solutions being generated through the Tyre Stewardship Fund.

To highlight these products TSA has developed a range of case study videos to demonstrate their application. These case studies quantify the benefits of the product both in a commercial aspect along with the environmental benefits for industry and the community.

These case studies will be used to outline the circular economic opportunities being realised and to highlight the commercial viability of domestic applications for tyre-derived products in Australia.

Tyre Stewardship Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which we live, work, and depend. We acknowledge the unique spiritual and cultural connection, and continuing aspiration that the Traditional Owners have for Country and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

Please note: Tyre Stewardship Australia was accredited under the Australian Government Accredited Product Stewardship Scheme from March 2021 to March 2026 and submitted an application for re‑accreditation in January 2026, which is currently under assessment.
